The Korea Water Resources Association (KWRA) founded in 1967 is a non-profit association dedicated to the advancement of water resources research, planning, development, management, and education. KWRA has a membership of 2,900 from multidisciplinary including academia, engineers, managers, regulators, and students.

KWRA promises a balanced, sustainable, adaptive and professional approach to solving water resources challenges in Korea. The main interests include the development of water resources to mitigate water scarcity, scientific forecast, control and management of flood, the implementation of integrated water resources management, restoration of aquatic ecosystems, and adaptation to climate change.

To meet the needs both at home and abroad, KWRA is promoting the scientific knowledge of the processes of water cycles and flows on the earth and leading the government policy-making for the progress of water resources technologies to contribute to the national welfares.

As a member of World Water Council and IHP (International Hydrological Programme) of UN, KWRA is trying to foster rapid buildups of water engineering technologies in close cooperation with other countries. The united efforts will take the lead in the technological developments of water resources.
