- 아 래 - We are convening a Hydrologic Sciences Session during the 20th AOGS annual meeting entitled HS07: Impact, Risk, and Predictability of Compound Hydroclimatic Extremes in a Changing Environment
Here is the session description: Spatiotemporal variations of water availability and hydroclimatic extremes have been changing under the influences of global warming, land-use change, and local human disturbance. While intense precipitation within a few hours/days can cause catastrophic effects, a multi-year drought threatens the water supply. When one comes after the other or vice versa, the adverse effects are exacerbated. Furthermore, flash droughts with a rapid onset raise a concern about the risk of extremes in the future. The session seeks to bring the latest advances in understanding of the underlying mechanism, environmental impacts, predictability and future risk of hydroclimatic extremes, such as droughts, floods, and/or their compound hydroclimatic extreme events. We invite presentations from the latest assessment of climate and hydrologic modeling, reanalysis products, remote sensing data, and observational data for the risk of hydroclimatic extremes and also their compound events. The long-term observational studies combined with hypothesis-driven climate modeling experiments and machine learning applications are also encouraged. Abstraction submission deadline: Feb. 14, 2023
